A Few Announcements! Branding My Business, Creating a Facebook Group, and More

Hi all, I wanted to make a few announcements! As you know I’ve been wanting to level up my brand. Because of this, I’ve added a few initiatives to my business that I’m working towards including creating a Facebook group and launching a YouTube channel.

In my previous interview with Pat Flynn, he talks about the concepts of 1. getting over fears to better serve and connect with people, and 2. being everywhere to reach wider audiences. It made me realize I could be doing so much more with my business.

A combination of different sources really inspired me to take action on things I’ve been putting off for a long time. In this post I will cover my few announcements and future plans.

A Few Announcements! Branding My Business, Creating a Facebook Group, Launching a YouTube and Podcast, Interviewing, and More

1. Creating a Facebook Group

I probably should have created this group a while ago, but I am now realizing more and more how great it would be to have a community / network of people in the same space to grow with me. I also feel I can best help and connect with you all by managing a group.

2. Expanding to Multiple Platforms

In one of my recent posts you may have noticed I’ve launched a YouTube channel. The more research I do in the content creation space, the more I realize blogs are getting less popular while other multimedia platforms like podcasts and YouTube are more favored.

Here’s a Google Trends look at the search terms “blogs” and “podcasts”:

The above is undeniable proof that blogs are going downhill in search volume (unfortunately). When it comes to learning material and consuming content, I am generally the type who enjoys reading over listening. I can’t focus on podcasts. But it looks like much of the world differs from me so I should listen to what people want! And if I can reach more audiences by expanding to more platforms, I think it wise to get over my fears and create more multimedia content.

If you’re interested in my video content, please subscribe to my YouTube channel here to get updates on my latest videos. I plan to make a ton of educational videos around building passive income through all the different income streams I have created. I also want to use my 7 years of digital marketing expertise and teach marketing and branding for online businesses.

If you’re interested in my audio content, please check out my podcast here. The episodes will be audio taken from YouTube videos. I will be focusing more on YouTube over podcasting so I’m just going to be repurposing content for now.

3. Building E-mail Sequences and E-mail Broadcasts

I signed up for a ConvertKit account for e-mail marketing, and I’m already excited for all the opportunities it comes with. I upgraded from Mailchimp and I can see why people talk about how great ConvertKit is. It makes it super easy to create autoresponder series. I’ve built an initial email sequence, but I know there’s a lot more work to be done with this. If you’re interested in getting ConvertKit, feel free to use my link here (it’s an affiliate link so if you do sign up, I will receive a commission at no cost to you).

I’ve been sending an automated RSS feed type email for updates on my latest posts. But if I’m going to be creating content on multiple platforms, I’ll want to start manually curating weekly email newsletters for you all. I don’t currently havef time, but if I figure out my newsletter template and hire out a bit more, this is doable. This leads to #4…

4. Hiring to Get More Work Done

So many successful entrepreneurs have told me “I wish I hired out earlier”. I’m starting to take that as a sign I need to build a team sooner than later. The act of actually training people turns me off but I know that outsourcing and hiring can take me to the next level.

I also know that a lot more expenses will come with this, but if it saves me time, I have no excuse as time is way more valuable than money. This may entail hiring for video editing, social media work, and more.

5. Interviewing on Podcasts

So I haven’t just been interviewing others on my YouTube channel. I’ve also been interviewed a few times now about my digital nomad and financial freedom/passive income journey. It was such a bigger deal before (I talk about my fear of being interviewed here). But now that I’ve been challenging my fears (with things like improv class, interviewing, and teaching on YouTube), I’ve decided to embrace discomfort and it’s really helping with my confidence.

Check out my interview with A Guy His Dog and Sports here.

And check out my interview with Fire Drill Podcast here.

I’ve also finished a new interview a few days ago and it will be out end of next month.

Conclusion

All of these new initiatives (including creating a Facebook group and a YouTube channel) are my ways of providing more value to my audience as well as receive more exposure to my website and my brand. Rather than put numeric goals on my actions, I’m just going to focus on being consistent and delivering value for now.

I hope you guys enjoyed these updates! I noticed I haven’t made as many personal posts in a while, so I hope to do that more on top of my educational posts. I update more freely on my Instagram page (as well as include tips in real-time). So feel free to hit me up on Instagram as well, and let me know what you think of my new initiatives and announcements.
