This is the digital nomad quest podcast with Sharon Tseung. teaching people how to build passive income, become financially free and design their best lives. Hey guys, it’s Sharon from digital nomad quest. And today I want to tell you guys about why consistency is key. I feel like you guys hear this a lot. If you guys haven’t heard that, then you guys must be out of the loop. Because it’s very cliche now to know that consistency is key. I mean, as a content creator, if you drop off, people will drop off, you have to stay consistent with whatever you post. So if you’re a YouTuber, if you want to post weekly, twice a week, three times a week, whatever, you have to make sure you do it every week. So I have a music channel. It’s called Sharon ST. So back in the day, when I was more focused on music, I was posting every week, I had a thing called St Sunday. So everyone knew to expect my covers on Sundays. And I made sure to post weekly, consistently. And when I did that, the subscriber count grew like crazy. So I knew that it was working. And that’s really when it hits. If you start posting randomly, you drop off for four weeks, then you post maybe like four videos in one week. And it’s just sporadic, no one’s going to know when to expect your new videos. And if you want consistent following and fans that actually love your work, you have to make sure you’re posting all the time and sort of getting in front of them and making sure they know when to expect your videos. So let me give you another example. Right, Alex and Lauren from creating go in a two year time span, they went from zero to $160,000 a month in passive income. That is insane, right. So they were posting pretty much every single day with blogs, and they were working so hard in order to get to that point. But in order to get to that point, you have to keep blogging every single day. And here’s the crazy part. I think we all need know this, but we just don’t do it because it’s hard. You know, it’s a lot of work. But it’s not that much work, right? You’re just kind of putting stuff out there every single week or single day, whatever that you can handle. But as long as you stay consistent, it’ll work. We all know this. So why don’t we do it? Well, here’s the thing, I think 99% of people fail, because they don’t do the stuff that people don’t want to do that 1% that succeeds actually puts in that effort that no one else wants to do. Like Gary van der Chuck said 1% of things should be so hard that 99% of people don’t want it or have the stomach or talent for it. Of course, if it were all easy, everyone would be doing it. But that grind and hustle is what separates the 1% from the 99%. And let’s look at Graham Stephen and other YouTubers. He got to hundreds of thousands of subscribers in about one to two years timeframe. And all he did was post about three videos a week consistently. So imagine if, you know you started putting out one video a week and you saw uptick. What if you did to what if you did three, right, if you were consistent with a ton of content, more people will be able to discover your content on YouTube. Because you’re going to be able to rank on different keywords with each of these videos that you post and the more videos you put out, YouTube’s obviously going to recognize it, YouTube’s going to recognize the amount of volume you’re putting out there. And they’re going to help you with rankings. So it’s obviously going to help you with SEO, when you have tons of content for people to search from. And your fans are going to love it because they’re going to expect new content from you. And they follow you because they like you, right. So if they are invested in your personality in the type of person you are and the type of material you give them, they’re going to want to come back for more and they hope for more they’re expecting more. So you got to give them what they want. Right. Another benefit is if you post more videos all the time, or more blog content, or more podcast episodes, whatever you’re going to learn over time what to do, right? So if you only put out one video, one blog post or whatever, to you think that’s going to be the perfect piece of content? No, of course not. You know, it takes a lot of practice and takes a lot of learning that learning comes from experience. So you have to put stuff out there to know. And what you’re going to find is you’re naturally going to figure out what videos are hitting with more engagement than others. So you’re going to see which one has more views, which one has more comments, you’re going to see what people want. And in the comments usually people will ask for you know, I would love to see a video on this topic and that topic, then you’ll know what your audience wants, and you can serve them the right material for them. So the more content you have, the better because the more you can learn as well. So I hope this was convincing enough to help you understand why consistency is key. And you just gotta focus, you gotta hustle and make sure you have a regular schedule with uploads not just in YouTube, but any type of thing you do in life. So you can be talking about learning a new skill. If you don’t consistently put in that work, you’re not going to learn at a faster pace. If you’re working out if you don’t consistently put in the effort. You’re not going to see the those results. The outcomes don’t come if you don’t stay consistent with what you’re working on.

So I hope you guys enjoyed this episode. Please make sure to rate review and subscribe. It really helps our podcast grow. And thanks again. I’ll see you guys in the next one.
