In this post we cover best international survey sites to make extra income, and we’ve included survey taking tips as well!
With all of our modern technological conveniences, it’s no wonder that we, as a society, tend to look for the quickest and easiest ways to do things. We look for the most efficient ways to do daily chores, improve our health and, of course, make money. This being said, we’ve managed to find a few super easy ways to boost our incomes – one of which includes taking surveys.
So, which survey portals are the best for making money? And how can you make the most of these portals? Let’s dig deeper.
4 Best International Survey Sites to Make Money
1. LifePoints
One of the most beloved features of LifePoints is its straightforwardness. Before each survey, users are told how much they pay and how long they will take. There are, of course, some low paying surveys, while others can pay as much as $10.
On LifePoints, taking shorter, lower-paying surveys is key. Taking these kinds of surveys increases your chances of being offered better paying surveys. So, this being said, it’s important to take surveys consistently and frequently (even if they pay minimally and/or if you are screened out). Another thing to consider with LifePoints, though, is that, when you first start you won’t be offered that many surveys; patience is critical.
In addition, LifePoints offers a daily poll. The poll is your ticket into sweepstakes, with each answer rewarding you with 5 free sweepstakes entries. It’s unlikely that you’ll win the sweepstakes, but it doesn’t hurt to enter anyways.
LifePoints isn’t ideal for making a killing, but it is highly reliable.
2. YouGov
YouGov is ideal for anyone who enjoys politics. So, if staying up to date on the political happenings of the world is your thing, YouGov is for you. It’s particularly interesting how the site allows you to see the answers others have given about the questions you answer.
YouGov isn’t top of the ladder in terms of the highest payout, but it makes up for it by being one of the more enjoyable survey portals. You’re eligible to make $5-$10 an hour, with those who take the most surveys earning the potential to make up to $20. There are a number of short surveys that take 1 or 2 minutes and will reward a few cents per survey. I’d recommend jumping on these whenever possible, as they add up.
When it comes to payout, your redemption threshold will depend on the prize you’re after. For example, a set amount of points could give you $25 for one retailer, but only $20 to another.
3. Vindale Research
The best part of Vindale Research is, by far, that survey options are seemingly endless. There’s always a plethora of surveys available, and some can even be taken multiple times a day. The quantity of available surveys that this survey portal offers never fails.
When you first sign up, you’re rewarded with a free $2 credit to your account. Then, when you start taking surveys, you’ll find that the pay varies. Some surveys offer as much as $10, while others offer as little as $0.20. Occasionally, there will be special surveys that can offer as much as $75! These surveys, though, are known to take a few hours to complete, which is quite the time commitment. In addition, these surveys are also most commonly offered to frequent survey takers.
The only thing with Vindale is that screening out isn’t uncommon in the slightest. In fact, sometimes you’ll have to try multiple surveys before you qualify to complete one.

4. SurveyLion
Until recently, SurveyLion was a Canadian-only survey portal. It has expanded its horizons, however, and now honors American residents, as well as members from certain other countries. If we’re being honest, SurveyLion is my favorite portal from this list.
Survey frequency is ever-changing. For example, one month you may be offered 4 surveys total while another month, you could be offered double that amount with multiple surveys on any given day. Although this sounds like a major downfall, it’s definitely made up for by the pay of each survey.
Generally, each survey that you complete is worth at least $1. I have taken surveys that are as much as $4 and $5, though. One big thing about SurveyLion is that the portal is big on transparency and honesty, so your answers should be truthful and long-form answers should be well-thought-out to avoid being penalized.
Tips for Using Multiple Survey Sites
Be honest.
When taking a survey, it can be tempting to fabricate your answers so that you are more likely to qualify for the survey. DOn’t do this. Lying is never a good idea when it comes to taking surveys, as you’re likely to forget the answers you gave and, when asked again as a quality check, even more likely to answer incorrectly the second time. In addition, some survey sites keep track of how you answer questions across their offered surveys, so saying you make $45,000 per year in one survey and only $20,000 in another survey doesn’t do you any good.
Being caught in too many little white lies can lead to your account being shut down and all of your earned rewards forfeited.
Also going along with honesty is the fact that it’s best not to rush through the surveys. Survey creators understand that surveys can be quite dry and that people are likely to try and rush through them, not answering the questions properly, and selecting random answers. To combat this, creators will often add trick questions into their survey. Some may even set a minimum time limit to ensure the integrity of the answers they receive.
Create a dedicated email account.
Survey portals will frequently email their survey takers with new survey opportunities, updates, and other cash-grabbing activities. Because of the frequency in which emails are sent to you, your primary email inbox can quickly be backed up by survey-related emails.
It’s never a bad idea to create an email account that you can use to sign up for all of your chosen portals. This way, all of your survey-related correspondence is kept in one place and you can stay organized. Not only will you benefit from better organization, but you’re less likely to miss out on high-paying surveys that you were invited to via email.
Cater to various demographics.
One of the best ways to qualify for a lot of surveys is to cater to a wide range of demographics. You can do this by providing positive responses when filling out your survey profiles.
For example, you don’t want to answer questions in such a way that it seems like you dislike certain products, and you do want to showcase the various areas of life in which you have experience (even if the connection is slim, it’s still a connection!).
Did you watch football on TV last year but not so much this year? No worries! You can still say that you do/did watch it to fit into the demographic. Have you used a certain cell phone provider but it was years and years ago? That’s fine! You can still use that information on your profile.
Be mindful of your physical location and IP address.
Going hand in hand with honesty is the connection between your physical location and the location of your IP address. If you take surveys on a computer, your surveys will be connected to your computer’s IP address. So, when answering where you’re located in a survey, you’ll want to be mindful of where you’re saying you’re located and what area of the world your IP will ping to.
This goes the same way with your smartphone. If you use it to answer surveys, the survey portal will receive your general location.
Use apps.
Most of the top survey portals offer a well-designed mobile app that allows their members to take surveys from their mobile or tablet. If your portal of choice offers an app, I’d always recommend using it. Using the app will help you to make sure that you never miss a survey. In fact, there are some surveys that are designed to be taken exclusively on a mobile device and although the survey could be taken through your device’s browser, taking it on the app will almost always be easier and more efficient.
Taking mobile surveys on your lunch break, on the bus, or in between classes can really add up in the end. Just be sure that your app is kept up to date so that it runs smoothly and doesn’t interfere with you completing surveys and being rewarded.
Check for new surveys frequently.
Without checking your portals for surveys, you’d likely miss out on quite a few opportunities. Why? Well, it’s easy enough to rely on email notification it isn’t the most reliable. Sometimes emails are delayed, while other times they are not received at all – both scenarios can mean the difference between completion and missing out.
If you’ve noticed that you haven’t received an email from a certain portal for a while, don’t be scared to log on to the portal and manually check for surveys (most portals have pages for this). Here, you’ll find surveys that you might not have been notified of or that you forget to complete prior.
Try a schedule.
There’s a rule known as the “compound effect”. This rule says that when something is done repeatedly, it compounds into something much larger. This rule applies to survey taking.
What easier way to do something repeatedly than to work it into a schedule? You can consider making a schedule for your survey taking. Consider all of the portals you use and dedicate a certain space of time each week to knock out as many surveys as you can from one portal.
A good example of this is taking surveys on SurveyLion on Monday, Vindale Research on Tuesday, and so on. While scheduling isn’t for everyone, it can be incredibly useful. Not only does it ensure adequate time for each portal, but it also allows surveys to accumulate.
Fill out profiling surveys.
Without filling out your survey profile, you’ll find yourself getting very few survey invitations. Filling out your profile surveys should be one of the first things to get done upon signup. Most survey portals will use your profiling survey answers to send you relevant surveys, and will base how many survey invitations you receive on how much information is on your profile.
Often times, there are a number of short surveys that ask you basic questions about your lifestyle, family dynamic, likes, dislikes, health etc.
Sometimes profiling surveys offer a small payout (such as 10 points or $0.05), but other times they don’t. It’s also important to keep your profile surveys up to date, so be sure to retake your profile surveys if something changes.
