This is the digital nomad quest podcast with Sharon Tseung. teaching people how to build passive income, become financially free and design the best lives. Hey guys, it’s Sharon from digital nomad quest. And today I want to talk to you guys about nine different tools to help you with your business. So I think it’s very important to find the right tools to invest into kind of simplify your business. So I want to talk about each of these in today’s video, all of these I have experienced with and I want to tell you guys about my story with them and why I recommend them. So let’s just get straight to the point. So my first tool, an app that I recommend is Host Gator Host Gator is basically a hosting platform that lets you host your website. So when you make a website you basically need hosting as well as a domain is a little confusing at first when I first started but I found that host gator was the cheapest one that I could find and it was very easy to use. So what you’re going to do is sign up with Host Gator. And what I did was I selected the Baby Plan within Host Gator I bought a few years worth so that I can save some money. I chose the Baby Plan because it lets me host unlimited domains. So if I decide one day I want to make a website about music or about another business idea or whatever I can just keep making these domains and connect it to the same hosting plan is baby plan because it doesn’t require more fees with hosting you just need to pay for the domains within that plan. You can also hook it up to WordPress so it’s very easy to use. I personally recommend it It hasn’t been an issue for me if youwant to sign up with Host Gator Feel free to use my link below. As a disclaimer, I would get a commission if you use my link at no extra cost to you. Number two another tool I recommend is name cheap. So I buy all my domains with name cheap you know digital nomad quest com was purchased with name cheap and then hooked up with Host Gator. So I use this combination with name cheap and Host Gator. I will make some videos in the future about how to start your own blog how to start your own website and how to username cheap and Host Gator to do that. Alright, number three, the tour recommend is Hootsuite. So Hootsuite is a social media scheduling tool. So I use it to schedule my Twitter tweets, but you can connect up to three social accounts with their free plan. So that allows you to connect with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, but I personally do real time Facebook and Instagram posts while I schedule out my Twitter posts. This way you can simplify your business and have it all planned out so that you don’t have to scramble every time trying to think about content, you can kind of have it all scheduled out so it’s all ready and you don’t have to worry about it too much. You just spent a day or so kind of scheduling out your tweets and your whatever posts you want to put up. As a side note, I’ve heard buffer is really good for Instagram. I haven’t used it yet, but I’m planning to try that out soon. And buffer actually lets you repost other people’s posts within the app and credit them within buffer. So it’s just a lot easier. It seems like so I will try that out as well. But right now Hootsuite has been great for me for scheduling, Twitter tweets and things like that. Number four, I want to talk to you guys about tailwind for scheduling Pinterest posts. So Pinterest is kind of this amazing social platform that a lot of people overlook, because I actually personally don’t use it too much as a social media platform. But it’s actually very good for driving traffic to your website and whatever kind of product you have, and things like that. The reason why it’s good is it acts like another sort of search engine apart from Google. So I will get into that more in a future video. But Pinterest is like the secret tool. And if you’re trying to drive traffic to your website through Pinterest, you’re going to definitely need to win. No doubt about it. So telling Pricing starts at 999 per month, it’s super cheap and super worth it before I was scared to invest any type of money into my business. But now it’s like to one is this mandatory and very cheap tool to help you with your Pinterest traffic. And it helps so much because I’m telling you can schedule months and months out of Pinterest posts. And as a lot of tools do kind of smart scheduling, it’ll help you post at the most optimized times every day. And you can set how many different pins you want to publish on each board. So it’s just such an amazing tool. I really recommend it. It’s and you know, tailwind is approved by Pinterest and is one of the best tools out there. So if you want to use my link again, it’s in the description. I’m going to link all of these tools by the way in the description. So just go ahead and check that out. tool number five is slack. So slack is great for messaging, especially if you have a team. So if you’ve hired out a ton of people, if you have a bunch of VA, it’s really good to have your entire team on your Slack channel so that you can discuss upcoming projects and things like that. So maybe you need your video editors and your VA is all in one channel so you can talk about okay look on Friday, we need to finish this project on Monday we need to get this one done. It’s just a great way to get everyone in sync and you can create separate topics in the channel so you can join each of those topics and understand what each one is about. So it’s a great way to get everyone on board and in sync number six is Convert Kit so Convert Kit is an email platform that I highly recommend a lot of big players out there recommend Convert Kit so I actually switch from MailChimp to Convert Kit because everyone was recommending this tool. The reason I like Convert Kit is that it makes it very simple to create an autoresponder series for your email sequences and things like that. So for example, in my case, if I see people are interested in my Etsy posts and Etsy freebies, I can make them go into this Etsy funnel and serve email to them that will deliver value to those types of users and readers. Next, if I have an audience that’s very interested in just passive income in general, I give them the you know, 21 ways to make extra money online guide. And if they sign up with that, I can give them an email sequence as well that pertains to that that gives them value. So I can easily segment my audience and give them a series of emails that will apply to them and help them within Convert Kit, you can also do email blasts, you can do RSS feed emails, you can also easily see your analytics and see the open rates, the unsubscribed and things like that. So another part I really love about Convert Kit is you can create your email forms that people can sign up there to get on your email list. So you can do that within Convert Kit. So I’ve created my default form about you know, 21 ways to make extra money online. And I created that in Convert Kit. And I put that under every blog post I have as the default form. So after they’ve read my blog posts, they get to that 21 ways to make extra money online freebie that they can get if they enter their emails, it’s very easy to segment your audience. It’s easy to create your forms, it’s easy to create your auto responder series. So I just highly recommend Convert Kit. And you guys should look into that as well. Number seven, I’m going to bunch all these up together, Google Keep Google Sheets and Google Docs. So all these Google tools are very helpful for my business, Google Keep I use it for daily tasks, they have a way to create lists that you can put all your daily tasks under, and then checkmark him off when you’re finished with them. So it’s very easy for me to plan my day every day with Google Keep. It’s also a great place for just note taking and things like that. And then Google Sheets and Google Docs, I use it actually to plan my goals and my milestones. So I have my action plans in Google Sheets. A lot of times, I have you know Google Docs who write my 10 ideas a day, every day I write 10 ideas to sort of help me brainstorm with my business and my life and things like that. So all these different tools are great ways to kind of journal to write down your milestones and goals and to keep up with daily task. Number eight, I recommend teachable teachable is a course creation tool that I use for my own course, the Etsy entrepreneur, so teachable is a great way to create a course especially if you’re a newbie and makes it so simple to put one up and charge whatever price you want. To me it’s better than platforms like you to me and things like that, because you don’t need to undervalue your course costs and you can really brand it to be your own course. So I personally recommend teachable if you ever want to make a course Lastly, I recommend Canvas for graphic creation. If you have no experience at all. You don’t have tools like Photoshop and things like that Canvas is the way to go. Canvas lets you make social media posts very easily lets you make Pinterest pins very easily. Also your featured image on your blog posts very easily. So go check that out. They have tons of templates and they make it easy to drag and drop and write whatever you want in a really beautiful way so you don’t need graphic design experience. That’ll do it for you and it just looks amazing. So I hope you guys enjoyed this episode. Please make sure to rate review and subscribe. It really helps our podcast grow. And thanks again. I’ll see you guys in the next one. Transcribed by https://otter.ai
