In this post I want to go over how to make money on Clubhouse and grow your business! There are actually multiple ways to build your brand through the platform. It’s a bit different with other apps because it requires a lot more one-on-one hustle and public speaking. I think that whoever is more extroverted, excited about speaking with people and taking the stage, and in a people business, should definitely look at incorporating Clubhouse for their marketing/business model.

What is Clubhouse’s Differentiator?
Clubhouse is unlike many apps because it allows you to develop closer relationships and connections with users. It’s a very new concept, being audio-only.
If we compare with apps like TikTok, Clubhouse is just way better when it comes to building a deeper relationship. On TikTok you’re mainly just posting to all and sharing short form videos. It’s really hard for me to actually interact with people one-on-one aside from replying to comments. I still feel like I’m lacking a way to build a community there even though I have a decent sized following of 185k+ followers on the app. Because it’s harder to connect on TikTok, I have to use apps like Facebook groups and Clubhouse to connect people and build communities.
Since Clubhouse allows for actual conversations, I believe it can also be a great way to get more business if that’s what you’re looking for. Personally, I feel it is well suited for coaches or people who have high-ticket items they’re selling.
So let’s go over some different ways to make money. Some probably won’t surprise you, but some might!
How to Make Money on Clubhouse and Grow Your Business (4 WAYS)
1. Provide discount codes specific to Clubhouse users, directing to your products
While you’re networking and talking to people on Clubhouse, people will naturally check your bio. I’ve seen multiple bios on Clubhouse in which the user adds specific links and codes to their own products. For example, you could try creating a coupon code like promo code CLUB20 for 20% off your course for Clubhouse users. You could either plug your products during conversation (which I personally think it’s better not to sell like that), or you can let your users check your information out after you’ve given a lot of great free value.
If you want to do this through course creation, Teachable is an awesome platform for building your courses – everything from file uploads, to sales pages, to payment processing. It allows you to create those coupon codes, so you can build the specific ones you want to send out for Clubhouse app users.
You could host a digital course and direct people to the sales page with the Clubhouse code, or you could even create a membership service on the platform. I also sell other types of digital products on Teachable, so it is actually not limited to courses! Check out Teachable here.
2. Affiliate Marketing
You could also make money doing affiliate marketing while on Clubhouse. With affiliate marketing, you’re promoting other people’s products and getting a commission whenever people purchase through your unique referral links. You should find products you love and use and see if they have affiliate programs that you can sign up for to get your unique affiliate links of products to promote. Check this article to learn more about affiliate marketing.
I have a friend who sends users his sheet of products and tools he recommends during Clubhouse conservations. He’s a YouTube creator and expert, and lots of users ask for the specific tools to use around YouTube affiliate marketing and growth. My friend will let them know something like, “by the way, I have a one-sheet that will teach you all about affiliate marketing and YouTube growth, so feel free to DM me on Instagram and I can send that to you for free.” By doing this, he helps the Clubhouse community, but also benefits as he’s doing affiliate marketing at the same time. Whenever people purchase through his links, he receives a commission.
This is something you could try as well, if you have products you recommend would benefit your audience.
3. Secure more clients as a coach
If you’re a coach, it’s a great idea to showcase your expertise on the Clubhouse app and develop a connection with your users. As you build yourself up as an authority figure, you’ll show you know what you’re talking about and people may invest in your business if they believe you can provide value for them.
For example, if you’re an online business coach, you could try creating weekly lessons around email marketing, Facebook ads, etc. Check this article on successful Clubhouse room formats you could host. You could do this by hosting panels with other top influencers in the space, or you could even speak yourself or with another person and just teach a lesson that way. It’s almost like hosting your own webinar for free.
Picture speakers at conference panels. This is essentially what you’re doing, speaking on all of these different rooms. You’re already showing your expertise and becoming an authority figure by hosting these Clubhouse rooms, and people will listen to you teach specific topics. Now if someone were looking for coaching in the specific niche you’re establishing yourself in, wouldn’t it make sense that they would look to you, if you continuously provide value?
I truly believe Clubhouse is a great way to secure more business and clients if that’s what you’re looking for. I’ve definitely gone on some Facebook groups in which people talk about how they’ve already secured 6 figures just from talking on the app.
4. Private, exclusive Clubhouse rooms
Exclusive Clubhouse rooms could be monetized in the future. I believe that Clubhouse is planning to do some sort of program in which people can charge for rooms, where they would do a commission split and Clubhouse gets a cut for hosted rooms. It would make sense that this is part of their monetization model, because they already have a lot of large influencers and creators on the platform. Currently all this value is free, but who knows! The bigger authority figures on the app may start charging a premium for access to specific rooms.
Clubhouse could even charge for all-day events, just as hosts of FinCon or other conferences charge you for a daily pass. Imagine the app giving conference hosts the ability to charge for an entire day of events – of breakout rooms, keynote speeches, etc. It’s only a matter of time before Clubhouse becomes the true hub for remote, online conferences.
But in the meantime, you could possibly create a membership or charge a price externally for closed rooms. Clubhouse lets you create closed rooms that are invite-only, so you could monetize events in this way.
Conclusion
I hope this post was helpful around how to make money on Clubhouse and grow your business! There are probably even more ways to monetize that I’m not thinking of currently. But I think this is just the start of Clubhouse, and there are going to be so many different ways to grow your business through the app. The online conference idea is particularly interesting to me, as it feels very revolutionary and exciting to be able to create a hub for events for entrepreneurs.
Leave a comment and let me know how you would use the app!
