Hey guys, it’s Sharon from Digital Nomad Quest and today I want to talk to you guys about how I make about a grand a month in passive income on the Etsy marketplace. So normally I feel like people won’t think about Etsy as a means of passive income. Most people talk about blogging, Amazon FBA, drop shipping, things like that buy and hold properties. But Etsy is like this hidden secret. I consider it like this hidden secret because, you know, most people think of it as a handmade goods place for arts and crafts and things like that. But Etsy is actually an amazing marketplace to sell digital downloads. And this is actually the first income stream I built up while I was traveling as a digital nomad for about two years. It’s one of my favorite passive income streams and reason being is that

All you’re really doing is putting up digital vials onto your Etsy shop. And whenever people purchase, you make money. I’m also very into like graphic design. So it was really fun making these products for people. So I personally sell Photoshop templates and Microsoft Word templates. And whenever people purchase it, they purchase the template and then put it into Photoshop or Microsoft Word. And then they put in their own details, like their name or whatever, personalize it to themselves, but I create the design. So for example, I might sell resume templates or photography, mini session templates, wedding card templates, there’s a lot of different things that you can create. But here’s the best part you don’t need to know graphic design to start selling digital downloads on Etsy. I’ve seen so many people sell all these other different types of digital downloads. So let me talk about what type of digital downloads you can sell. Ideas for us to consider to open your minds and to really think about what you can create yourself. So first off, you could do social media post ideas, Product Description templates. You can create info graphic design templates, business card templates, recipe books, invoice templates, monthly calendars, weekly planners daily tasks sheets, sewing patterns, knitting patterns, affirmations yoga workouts, cover letters, budget planners, songs, beats jingles, ringtone coloring books, mock up images print out origami, WordPress theme, Shopify themes, language lessons, party invitations, courses, meal, prep plans, astrology readings, game skins, I mean basically, whatever knowledge you have, you can create kind of guides to sell for example, you might be interested in real estate investing and you’re kind of a pro at it. Maybe you can provide tips on how to purchase your first buy and hold rental property, how to start closing your deals. So you can think of it

This way where you can create anything you want based on what you know and what you’re passionate about. The great thing about selling digital downloads on Etsy is that you don’t need to own any inventory. You don’t need to purchase inventory. You don’t need to ship inventory to customers, whenever people buy the digital file lives on Etsy marketplace in your Etsy shop. So whenever people buy, they get it instantaneously, you get your profits instantaneously. It’s just an amazing sort of way to start making money. The great thing about it again is you don’t need a ton of capital, you just need to invest your time into building your Etsy shop. Etsy marketplace is that it doesn’t cost a lot of money to set up, it’s free to create your shop. It’s just 20 cents of listing every time you put up a listing. And then Etsy takes a commission every time you get a sale. So those are the little costs that are required when you create your Etsy shop. But compare that to back in the day when you had to have a brick and mortar shop, you had to buy the inventory, you had to just do so much kind of to set up your shop and do the marketing for it.
