My Review of the Pinterest Traffic Avalanche Course by Create and Go (2019)

It’s been over a year since I purchased the Pinterest Traffic Avalanche course created by Create and Go. So naturally, I wanted to do a review of the course after having implemented the practices! I took this course to understand how to use Pinterest to drive traffic to my blog. I had mainly been focused on Google SEO marketing strategies for my website and wanted to expand to Pinterest strategies as I knew it’s another strong route of getting traffic.

Why Pinterest?

First of all, we should answer the question of why you should use Pinterest in the first place.

Pinterest is still, in my opinion, a little known secret to driving visitors to your website.

Pinterest is more like a visual search engine over a social media channel as people search on the platform almost like they would search on Google. I personally go on Pinterest to look for outfit ideas because I like seeing the visual search results. People are SEARCHING for your content, which means they’re more likely to convert. And when you search you can actually click into each pin to be driven to another site. That’s where the blog traffic component comes in.

Pinterest also has a longer lifetime value over other social media platforms. If people continuously pin a post onto their boards, that post spreads quickly to the followers of other people’s boards and is there to stay. On the other hand, Facebook and Twitter posts are pushed down as time passes and newer posts are published.

Check out my blog post on all the reasons why Pinterest is a great channel to use for marketing your business.

Create and Go’s Impressive Results

I randomly came across Create and Go as I was looking for resources to get my blog to the next level. When I read their About page I was immediately impressed and inspired by the creators, Lauren and Alex.

I must say they had a really strong site and sales pages. Because of their transparency and unique story, I was already hooked and ended up buying two of their courses. Around the time of purchasing Pinterest Traffic Avalanche, I was on this high of investing in myself, which basically involved buying a bunch of courses, books, programs, and conference tickets. Honestly, if I didn’t invest in these materials, I wouldn’t have upgraded my business and mentality as much as I’ve done now so I’m super grateful.

Anyway, back to Create and Go. It’s crazy but Lauren and Alex met through Tinder and ended up building a 7-figure business together. Alex began chasing the dream of blogging for money, and Lauren decided to join him. They quit their jobs without a guarantee of income and moved to Alex’s dad’s place to pursue their dreams of making money online about things they’re passionate about.

alex and lauren create and go

Alex and Lauren weren’t making any money on their blogs before they took the plunge! That’s guts right there. But they spent day and night building their websites. Their first site “failed”, but they kept hustling and finally started making money on their second website Avocadu.com.

Alex and Lauren were posting every single day and being consistent, and rather than optimizing for Google SEO, they mainly focused on Pinterest SEO and strategy. Through these means, they were able to hit $100k-$150k/month figures within 2 years. That’s basically a $1-2 million/year salary, which is insane! Most people focus on Google SEO for driving organic traffic, but not as many think about leveraging PINTEREST for the same outcome.

Because there is lack of people who understand the value of Pinterest, there is OPPORTUNITY.

I Tried it Myself

I had been dabbling in Pinterest before, but my numbers were always extremely low.

I didn’t get a screenshot of the “before” picture of my stats, unfortunately. However, I can tell you that people would click through my pins occasionally, but there weren’t many saved pins/repins, which meant very inconsistent traffic.

My pins were just not creating that curiosity to make people want to click, and a lot of them weren’t discoverable because I wasn’t using Pinterest SEO strategies to rank my pins higher.

After implementing the practices in the course, I started seeing results.

Pinterest Monthly Viewers (Increased by over 15x!)

The numbers aren’t insane like Create and Go’s, but I’ve significantly increased my monthly views from a couple thousand to almost 50,000 monthly views.

Site Traffic Statistics (Increased by over 3x)

And if you want to view actual blog traffic stats, you can look at the chart below.pinterest traffic avalanche

Here you can see the large spike after I implemented Pinterest Traffic Avalanche practices. It was so awesome seeing the huge results where I 3xed my traffic!

Unfortunately around October/November I was very busy with building up my Amazon FBA and Merch by Amazon stores, so I wasn’t adding pin images to my latest blog posts and pinning them on Pinterest. This led to a drop in my traffic. But as I started again back in April, Digital Nomad Quest started coming back up in views.

Alexa Traffic Rank Statistics (Improved by over 3x)

I’ve also been keeping track of my Alexa traffic rank statistics for a long time. Alexa ranking and Moz ranking are the two main tools I use to evaluate how strong a site is.

My traffic rank has significantly improved. This screenshot was from 8/22/19. My Alexa ranking has gone from around #765,963 90 days ago, to my current rank of #204,667! It’s been steadily improving as the days pass by. We’ll see if I can keep this progress up, and it’s exciting that I’m ranking a lot higher than I was before.

I took some screenshots while I was constantly monitoring my rankings :D.

Edit: My ranking is now #159,745 after putting up the above screenshots!

I’m just in awe at how much the course has helped with my stats.  As a side note, I even purchased their Six Figure Blogger course to learn more about monetization and how to get my blog to the next level after increasing traffic. I’ve already seen results through sales in affiliate marketing as well as my own course sales.

The Course

Pinterest Traffic Avalanche contains a ton of modules that take a complete beginner from start to finish. The great part is it goes from general to granular so that it covers everything for both newbies and pros. I pretty much wouldn’t have gotten to where I am today without the course because it dives into concepts deeply and answers FAQs.

Here is a summary of what Pinterest Traffic Avalanche covers:

  • Introduction to the Program
  • Laying the Foundation to Success
  • Getting Started and Setting Up Your Account for Success
  • Pinterest Search Engine Optimization
  • Creating Your Own Pinterest Pins
  • Pinning Strategies
  • Creating Viral Content on Pinterest
  • Good and Bad Practices on Pinterest
  • The Power of Group Boards
  • Automating Your Pinterest Traffic
  • Tailwind Tribes
  • Tailwind SmartLoop
  • Analytics and Tracking Progress
  • Promoting Pins
  • Other Pinning Tools
  • Pinterest Ninja Secrets Bonus Lessons (Really amazing modules that helped a lot)
  • And other bonus materials!

Here were some of the things I loved about the course:

  • Alex and Lauren go extremely in depth with Pinterest SEO. If you want to start getting your pins noticed, you need to master SEO – which involves researching and adjusting your boards, pins, descriptions, and more.
  • They teach you human psychology behind Pinterest marketing so that you can reshape how you do your pins. I think a big part of Pinterest success is the aesthetics and driving people to click – and a lot of that is psychological and thinking in terms of the user.
  • Alex and Lauren were very transparent with showing their account, their boards, how they schedule their pins on Tailwind, and how they make pins on Canva. That’s honestly why I invest in them – their honesty and transparency drew me to buying their courses.
  • They’ve answered my questions in their Facebook group.
  • They’re constantly updating the course as well, so you don’t need to worry about outdated information.

Like I mentioned earlier, one of the biggest advantages of getting the course is actually the Facebook Group you get access to after you sign up. I’ve been able to get a lot of questions answered because of the amazing community, and Lauren as well as other admins still help answer questions in the group. Having that access to a group of like-minded people is hugely beneficial because many of them can really help you with your business. They will even evaluate your Pinterest account and pins if you ask them for feedback.

Conclusion

I have to say that for the longest time, I would refrain from purchasing any educational investments that I thought I could figure out on my own.

Here’s the problem with that: you don’t know what you don’t know. I couldn’t get to the next level because I thought I could find information in free resources. In reality, most gurus won’t offer their secret sauce in free info, and they’re not going to provide you the exact blueprint to get from A to B unless you invest in yourself. If they’ve put in the time, effort, and money in honing their craft, they’re probably going to charge for their time to teach you!

Everything changed when I began investing in myself and my business, and Pinterest Traffic Avalanche was one of the biggest drivers in increasing my site rankings and statistics. This course paired with the Tailwind Pinterest scheduling tool really made dramatic differences in my blog. I still wouldn’t consider myself as having mastered Pinterest, but I’ve improved a lot and know that if I took even more time reviewing the course materials and building up my account I’d get even further.

If you’re looking for that course to get you to the next level in blog traffic and in Pinterest, I definitely think Pinterest Traffic Avalanche is the way to go. The course works, and hopefully you can tell from the proof I mentioned earlier with my results.

I hope you enjoyed my review of the Pinterest Traffic Avalanche course, and be sure to check out Pinterest Traffic Avalanche here.
