Hey guys, it’s Sharon from digital nomad quest. And today I want to tell you guys about why you should use Pinterest for marketing your business. So Pinterest is a social media platform that a lot of people actually overlook. I find that most people are using Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, but they forget about the power of Pinterest. After more research, I realized a lot of bloggers are actually making over 20 grand a month in some cases even over 100 grand a month just by optimizing on Pinterest. So I want to share some of the reasons why I think you shouldn’t overlook Pinterest. If you didn’t already know I highly recommend the course Pinterest traffic avalanche, I purchased the course and it’s actually boosted my blog traffic significantly by following their Pinterest tactics. And I also use tailwind to schedule my Pinterest posts and it’s been

very crucial to helping me optimize my Pinterest page. So if you want to check out those tools and resources, please click the link below, and you can sign up through there. Alright, so I want to talk about why you should use Pinterest for your business. So Reason number one, Pinterest is more like a search engine than a social media channel. Okay, that sounds kind of weird. But if you think about it, when you go on Pinterest, you search up a topic. So for example, for me, I might search up winter outfit ideas actually do this a lot. And usually when you click into the pin, it actually leads you to an external website. So if you think about it, it is a search engine. It’s just search engine that gives you results as images. And then when you click into the images, it goes to blog posts or things like that. And then if you think about Facebook and Twitter, you’re actually usually just getting updates and highlight reels from your friends. So these updates can be noisy and about anything. So as you can see, these two different social media channels are function very differently on digital marker. They actually classify Pinterest as a dumb Google because their algorithm is not as powerful as Google’s but it’s

2:00
Still a search engine number two Pinterest pins have a longer lifespan than any other social media channel. Alright, think about this pins on Pinterest are actually shared on different boards of different people. So whenever those pins are shared on those boards, all the boards followers can see it. You think about Facebook and Twitter, every time you post it gets pushed down by your next post and your next post. See if you have a pin that’s shared on multiple boards, it’s a longer lasting pin that can keep driving you traffic to your website, I have a pin that directs traffic to my travel blog that gets tons of views every day, just from that one pin. So that pin has been shared on many, many boards. And if people keep sharing that pin, you can see that it can keep getting you more traffic even if you posted it years ago, which is the case for me because I posted that pin years ago and it’s still garnering tons of traffic to this day when you have a really solid pin and the pin just looks visually appealing and gives a lot of information.

People want to click on it can spread super quickly. If it’s very powerful like that, if it’s catchy and hits the right people, it can be on tons of boards shared over and over again. So that’s why I advocate Pinterest. It’s almost like this repository, this portfolio of pins that you have that people can reshare over and over again, or number three, there’s a large chance of virality on Pinterest. So I mentioned this a number two you get noticed by one pinner and it gets pinned to their boards, your pin can be shown to all that boards followers, those followers may repin your work and then it just keeps spreading. So it’s basically what I said number two, but the point is your pin has constant opportunity to get noticed and viral once people see it, it can actually spread like wildfire. Number four Pinterest appreciates really high value content. If you’re especially good at design, you’re going to succeed on Pinterest because Pinterest values high quality content spams are going to work and Pinterest actually tracks down a lot accounts that seem spammy and close them down via a strong graphic design capable

ability, your efforts will shine on Pinterest. If you don’t, you can actually use Canva. And they have a ton of great templates to help you create your pins. And they’re actually really aesthetically pleasing. So it’s not like you need graphic design skills. But if you have a good eye for what looks nice, it will help you on the Pinterest platform. So because the quality is high on the platform, you don’t have to worry about you know, garbage overpowering your content, it’s always going to be optimized for the best stuff, which actually is great for you. Because if you are all about quality, you’re gonna do well on Pinterest. Number five Pinterest users are actually more likely to buy than on any other social media platform. Okay, the reason for this is twofold. So number one, if Pinterest acts like a search engine, people are searching for your content. They’re not accidentally getting served this content on your feed, it’s going to be a warmer lead because when Pinterest users click on your pin, they actually searched for it and then when they go into your website, they’re actually more interested in your

content that other people who are accidentally served that content if that makes sense, these people want to look for the things you’re offering. for them. It’s almost like all these pins are different ads, but people are actually searching for those ads to buy. Even on Pinterest site, they quote 55% of pinners say they use the platform to shop for and find products, which is more than four x the rate of other platforms. And then the second reason is half of Pinterest users earn 50 grand or more per year and 10% of those households make over 125 grand a year. So as you can see, in general, Pinterest users on average are wealthier than those of other social media platforms. This means they’re more likely to convert because obviously they can afford the things you’re selling. And lastly, Pinterest promoted pins performed better than the ads of other social media channels. Pinterest did some research and found that for every hundred dollars brands spent on Pinterest they received $60 more profit than from other social media channels. So Pinterest obviously delivers a better return.

6:00
on investment than other social media channels on the Pinterest page, they also quote that for every $1 that advertisers spend on Pinterest, they receive $2 in profit on the platform. Alright, if this list of reasons to use Pinterest doesn’t convince you, I don’t know what will I believe Pinterest can be a huge game changer for your blog and for your business. So again, if you want to learn more about Pinterest, I’m going to do more videos on it. But if you want that formal training, you can check out Pinterest traffic avalanche, it’s a course I took that has helped me significantly in my Pinterest game. And if you’re invested in Pinterest, you have to use the tailwind app. It’s about 10 bucks a month and it can change the game for you because it allows you to schedule Pinterest pins. It saves you tons of time. So I use it as well and I don’t know what I would do without it to be honest. So I hope you guys enjoyed this episode. Please make sure to rate review and subscribe.
