My name is Sharon, and I’m a young professional from the Bay Area, California who decided to leave the corporate world and venture into a life abroad. In May of 2016, I quit my full-time job as a Marketing Manager to build passive income online businesses and travel the world for 2 years. (You can find more details about me on my About Page.)
Like many of you, I was scared of the idea that I had to work the rest of my life to make enough money to live. Instead, I decided to explore alternative ways of living and stumbled upon the concepts of digital nomadism and passive income. A digital nomad is someone who is location independent and can work from the comforts of their laptop. Passive income is money that you make on a regular basis that requires little to no effort to maintain. I decided to merge the two ideas to become a passive income generating digital nomad – with the true goal of financial freedom.
I know this site is called Digital Nomad Quest…but whether or not you want to travel or become a digital nomad doesn’t actually matter 😱. Ultimately, I want to show you how you can create passive income streams to remove financial restrictions towards a life of freedom. This site aims to teach people how to build financial freedom so you can live the life of your dreams and do what matters – whether that means seeing the world, creating art, spending more time with your friends and family, giving back to others, or pursuing your passions.

In order to accomplish the goal of financial freedom and retiring early, there are 3 steps:
1. Get your finances in order.
It’s important to save and invest to grow your nest egg. Having a solid savings account will ensure you’re covered on rainy days and make it extremely easier to grow your wealth. The best way to do that is to understand your finances and how money works, budget, get rid of debt, invest, and find ways to make supplemental income (even if that’s through remote work or using apps to make money online).
